The Fundación Luis Vives (FLV) is a NGO with the mission to strengthen and support the third social sector by fostering partnerships between public and private stakeholders. Endowed with funds from national sources and the European Union, it runs its own projects but also acts as an umbrella NPO providing services for others.

The organisation manages over 50 projects per year, funded from diverse sources. As the number of projects per financial year grows, the management, budgeting and reporting tasks increase, demanding too much time from managers and technicians. The fact that many projects are fully or partially funded with European Union funds makes this situation more complex, as such projects demand strict control on execution and expenditure, including automated reporting to the Spanish government body in charge of managing European Funds (UAFSE).

LinkedTeams helps the FLV by creating a back-office web application for the integral management of all projects considered or run by the organisation. This resource management app covers all aspects of operational planning, implementation, assessment, on-site auditing and certification, economic management, budgetary control and expenditure. It synchronises financial data with the company’s accounting application and will consistitute the main channel of reporting between the NGO and the Spanish Ministry for projects involving European funding.

During the project, LinkedTeams worked with the FLV to capture the exact requirements of the client in all areas, aligning the organisation’s needs to its existing and forecast business processes, and designing suitable processes to reflect these within the application. This led to a full definition of the best architecture and visual interface to suit the organisation. The application development was then divided in short phases, with the delivery of significant application milestones to the client at the end of each for validation and deployment.
