By concentrating on the use of standards, the repurposing of content and multimedia elements, and a multi-platform approach, LinkedTeams’ e-learning solution reduces production times and therefore costs.

Thanks to co-financing from the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism, as part of its National Plan for Scientific Research, Development and Technological Innovation 2008-2011, and the Plan Avanza 2 – 2011-2015 Strategy (subprogramme for Digital Content and Services, project ref. TSI-090500-2011-84), LinkedTeams is currently immersed in an R&D project to design a suite of e-learning authorship tools.

This will take LinkedTeams’ activity in the e-learning arena one step forward: moving from bespoke solutions that further asset reuse, towards an innovative prototype that will enable knowledge transfer to be standardised and distributed over multiple platforms.

The final tool suite, which will be finished in 2013, will boast an attractive visual design, high multimedia performance and incorporate the extended support to monitor e-learning students offered by e-learning platforms.

Unlike other solutions available on the market that concentrate on platform to the detriment of content, by limiting or impeding content distribution over multiple platforms, by offering diminished multimedia performance and interactivity, and by doing little to further the reuse of content and elements associated to content, LinkedTeams’ project takes an alternative approach.

We believe it is vital to make content independent from the means of distribution, and even further distribution by providing tools that allow content to be:

• easily displayed in attractive designs
• enriched by multimedia elements that increase course interactivity
• made accessible in different platforms with total transparency.
